Organic Fertilization & Weed Control Program

Applications are applied using as few chemicals as possible for effective results and only in a manner that is consistent with the product’s labeling. The goal of our state-licensed applicators is to work in harmony with nature. The benefit of organic fertilizers over synthetic fertilizers is that they will have little to no negative downstream effect on people, pets, or wildlife. We were finally able to source a reasonably priced alternative to traditional synthetic fertilizer in the spring of 2016. Per a survey of our customers and a watchful eye on our lawn accounts, we found that it performed equally as well as the traditional synthetic fertilizers and exorbitantly expensive organics that have to be applied more frequently and in abundance. We tried applications of corn gluten, milorganite, and soy/beet derived fertilizers and it economically didn’t make sense. We had to apply twice as much product twice as frequently. Visiting our customers’ lawns twice as often requires twice the fuel and generates twice the exhaust emissions. This is a conscious and continued effort on our part to be stewards of the environment, protect our waterways, and protect and serve you, our customers, even better.

2024 Schedule

We will email you the week of your lawn treatment and text you on the day of the treatment.

It is challenging to create an accurate schedule for our work as it is entirely dependent on the weather. Our route can differ each time, and we may have to halt in the middle of the route for lunch, bathroom break, supplies, or bad weather, etc.

ROUND 5:
Dates are Weather Permitting

Round 1:

EARLY SPRING
Crabgrass Pre-Emergent with Fertilizer

Application consists of a slow release granular fertilizer/broadleaf herbicide that will provide green-up by replenishing nutrients and help build a strong root system. Incorporated in the granules is an important Crabgrass/broadleaf weed pre-emergent to help stop these tough annual weeds before they germinate.

Round 2:

LATE SPRING
Broadleaf Weed Control with Fertilizer

Application consists of a slow-release balanced organic granular fertilizer / sprayed herbicide to help lawns thrive. This is a great time to control broadleaf /grassy weeds as they are very active, and also very vulnerable. These balanced granules promote deep root growth and maintain a lush and healthy lawn.

Round 3:

EARLY SUMMER
Lawn Fertilizer

Application consists of a slow-release balanced organic granular fertilizer to help your lawn sustain the hot / dry conditions that are typical in summer. Only fertilizer will be applied if weeds are not present. Regular watering / fertilizing will strengthen the root system of grasses so they can grow deeper and the lawn can survive drought.

Round 4:

LATE SUMMER
Broadleaf Weed Control with Fertilizer

Application consists of a slow-release balanced organic granular fertilizer / sprayed herbicide. Only fertilizer will be applied if weeds are not present. This application helps dormant lawns recover quickly from summer and controls persistent broadleaf / grassy weeds. Weeds are most vulnerable this time of year.

Round 5:

FALL
Winterizing Fertilizer

Application consists of a slow release granular winterizing fertilizer. This important application provides nutrients going into winter and early spring, so that after the winter dormancy the lawn flourishes in the spring.

Weed Control

Spot spraying consists of a liquid spray of premium specialty herbicide in optimal droplet size. It will be applied appropriately with an organic spreader sticker which enables the product to adhere and perform longer. This is an exceptional way to eliminate weeds without damaging wanted grasses. These products are very effective at removing tough to kill broadleaf/grassy weeds such as; Creeping Charlie, Chickweed, Dandelions, Clover, Crabgrass, Goosegrass, Foxtail and Quackgrass.

Stay Off Lawn for 24 Hours

After a liquid spray application is applied you can walk on your lawn in as little as one hour once the application is dry. However, we recommend people and pets avoid activities or play on the lawn for the first 24 hours. Our technique uses localized spraying of a fine mist. It only takes a few molecules of the chemical products we use to control a weed, not the commonly used heavy blanket spray. Once the fine spray that is applied dries, you can return to the lawn.
